Pinerolo. Yes, so I studied it the day before we left
Briancon. It seemed like a pretty little
spot on the way to Torino.
This time we were taking the non toll
roads. The drive to the Sacra cost us a
small fortune in tolls. So a slow drive
to Pinerolo it was.
Sorry Katya, I'm gonna tell all 5 readers
of my blog. Katya had to pee when we got
there. So. Yeah.
Hmmm. What to do.
Parked the car and were suddenly surrouned
with the most gorgeous shops (chocolate, pastry, stuff that's interesting like
that. I could live very happily in Pinerolo!). We went into a chocolate shop and
I picked out a couple of things and asked if they had a loo. Nope (very polite though and in perfect English)
pop up a few doors to the bar. Really?
A bar??? Not sure about that one.
So we did as instructed and popped up those
few doors to 'the bar' and viola, a rather lovely cafe. I asked, and yes they had a toilet. While she was peeing (sorry K), I perused the
place. They had the most sublime looking
little cakes/pastries/ call them what you will but delightful.
We don't pee places we don't buy from. It's a Cooke/Bowden/Davis family rule. So I did buy.
And Katya popped out of the loo to inspect said product prior to
purchuse.
As it happens that wee town of Pinerolo does attract some rather handsome young
Italians. This place bar/pastry shop/public toilet call it what you want was a prime
example. But I couldn't exactly whip out the old camera and take a photo just cause my niece thought he was cute. So no photos. But he was. And he was checking her out. Hmmm. Watch out Juanitz and Mark.
Anyway, moving right along as Andy thought
we were lingering a little too long we bought the 3 dessert thingies and were
rather chuffed with the whole Pinerolo experience. An absolutely gorgeous little town, not touristy just sublime. One of those finds .
With our shopping in hand (3 beautifully boxed pastries)
And the pastries. Well no, they were full on rich desserts as it turned out. Hand made and very indulgent.
